DINGLE, BARRY is the darkly humorous tale of Barry Dingle, an amoral cad who will do anything to get laid.  It is also the story of his mother, Eleanor, a vicious aristocrat who occasionally resorts to her fabulous right hook or exploiting her son to climb socially.  When Eleanor discovers that a friend’s husband is running for the Senate, the race is on between Eleanor’s son Barry and her arch nemesis Debora Childers’ sons to be the first to woo and marry the future Senator’s homely daughter.  Unfortunately, the Dingles’ path to victory is obstructed when Barry is put in prison for the date-rape of Joanna Wojahowsky.

While Barry is suffering through three brutal years in prison during which he gets a taste of his own medicine, the Senator has been elected and is contemplating a run for the Presidency, his daughter is married to Debora’s eldest son, Joanna Wojahowsky is happily engaged to the love of her life, and Barry Dingle has gone almost completely bald. All appears to be lost for the Dingles! Or is it…?
